TOLU'S DIARY

TUESDAYS 10AM

Hi diary,
Back again on your dotted lines to get you informed. During the week, I sat with my guys in the street. Do you know those thoughts when a beautiful lady passes by a gathering of the opposite sex? There are always different kinds of opinion on the damsel. My observant eyes spotted her through the windscreen only to see a wheelchair been brought to get her down the jeep. I was about to start my guessing game on the cause of her situation when my friend said ‘’INJECTION; she was injected by a nurse’’.
A lot of people out there have been paralyzed by intramuscular injections. Disability as a result of curing an ailment/disease is synonymous to fire in the fuel station. In my research, paralysis of the lower limbs (legs) could be as a result of intramuscular injection on children while they had fever, poliomyelitis aggravated by intramuscular injection is another cause, quack health workers (incorrect injection) and use of old and unsterilized needle and syringes also lead to paralysis.
I plead with you readers to always ask for alternatives to intramuscular injection which must be oral. If it is compulsory to be injected, please make sure it is from a qualified health worker because the sites for intramuscular injections are diverse, complicated and specialized. It must be handled by specialists and not quacks. Finally, make sure water-for-injection, needle and syringe are new, sterile and sealed. Diary, I’ll confess here that my eyes are still on the ‘beautiful one’. There is surely an ability in disability. Love you always guys, see you again.
