AN INTERESTING HANG OUT WITH SAMUEL
I was privileged to be behind the scene of a lovely movie in still in the offing and I watched how this young man professionally delivers his services especially when he switches on his British accent – oh my... lol. I wasn’t the only on admiring but I made it a duty to be the first to shoot my shot at the Abuja based actor. Read below what he divulged.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: How would you like to be introduced?
Samuel: I like to be known as Samuel mc blaq Akawo.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: Did you study theatre art?
Samuel: No I didn’t.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: How long have you been practicing?
Samuel: I have been practicing for about 15 years but 7 years professionally.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: Do you do stage or screen productions?
Samuel: I do both stage and screen.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: What's the difference and their challenges?
Samuel: In Screen, mistakes can easily be corrected by cut and join but in stage you have to be 100% or nothing. The challenges are just too many I can’t even begin to count. You can always find locations for screen, but stage requires a structure which is overtly scarce at present.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: If you could go back in time, is there anything you would do differently? (Do you regret being a thespian and would you change it if you could?)
Samuel I would want to go back to study theater art.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: What's your favorite play text?
Samuel: Wizard of law
Sandra T. Adeyeye: Now to the quick questions. What's your favorite movie?
Samuel: The visit
Sandra T. Adeyeye: Who's your favorite actor, director, dop/lightsman, costumier and set designer?
Samuel: Olu Jacobs, Cabal Esosa, Toka Macbora, Ngozi, Johnson White.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: Who's your favorite comedian and why?
Samuel: Basket mouth - because of his imaginations, creativity And originality.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: Are you a member of any body governing performance in Nigeria?
Samuel: Nantap and actors guild of Nigeria.
Sandra T. Adeyeye: And your last words to NiWco readers.
Samuel: The Nigerian entertainment industry is growing. With Niwco and its likes, plus support from every Nigerians to our own plays and movies, the sky is just but a starting point.
