At the tender age of five, I watched my older siblings as they got ready for school. I longed to see the day when my turn to put on Command Day Secondary school uniform will come

"When will I be in Jss1, Mommy?" I often asked my mother anxiously and she said
"Soon mama". 

Though I got to read all their textbooks, I yearned for the day I would have mine and my name written in capital letters in my father's fine handwriting. 

Fast forward to JSS3, I longed for when I would leave the class where I was forced to do Elementary science which was not my strong subject. I asked my teachers,
"When will I be in SS1? Where I can do my favorite arts subjects" and they say, 
"When you pass your junior WAEC" . 

Even with Literature- in-English, Government, English language, I still yearned to leave secondary school. 

"I can't wait to be in the university'  I wailed to my friends. "University where  freedom lies",
"We need to pass SSCE, JAMB, and post UTME" they say. 

All I wrote, and all of them I passed. Four years into the university with only a semester left, I'm already fed up with the school. The real world calls to me every day; but then I look back to when I was five and yearned to be in secondary school - JSS1, SS1, University, all are great hills that I had to climb at one point in my life. 

I came to the realization that  after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are more hills to climb. So I am going to enjoy climbing this hill in preparation for the next great hill.
