WHY ARE LADIES SHOCKED DURING PROPOSALS?
Hi diary,
It’s the season of love! St. Valentines’ day is
celebrated every 14th of February to mark the lovers’ day. Old lovers
especially the so-called busy types use this time to hang out with their
partners. New lovers are enchanted by the season as everyone turns a poet or
postman as they write romantic lines and deliver lovely gifts to their partner.
One of the best gifts that can be given during this period is that which your
partner has to reply ‘yes, I do’.
I saw some folks at an eatery sometime ago. The man
proposed to his lady and I was surprised to see the lady shocked as she also
screamed. My younger brother once asked me, ‘why are ladies shocked during
proposals? It’s as if the ladies brains are always on tour during the dating’,
he concluded jokingly. I laughed and also shared my views on the subject. I
assume for you to have been dating someone and it’s a serious one, you don’t
have to be shocked when your man proposes to you. It might be a thing of joy if
you consider yourself finally off the market. I suggested and replied “the lady
might be a ‘Methuselah’ in the relationship. She must have been in that
relationship for ages past so she has to be surprised”. In this regard,
electric shock could be allowed.
It is traditional for the man to make a proposal to a
woman directly while genuflecting in front of her. It involves the formal
asking of the question “will you marry me?” and the presentation of an
engagement ring.
I believe the
man should be the shocked party if the woman declined. The woman is likely to
decline a proposal for various reasons. Well, as one of my friend will say “is
it your shock?”. On a serious note, can my female readers tell me the reason
for the shock displayed during proposals? I’m looking forward to your
feedbacks.
See you again guys.
